About Boilers Doncaster

About Boilers Doncaster: we are a heating business built around one straightforward idea — that most people asking for a boiler quote have no way of judging whether they are being told the truth. Boilers are expensive, the work is largely hidden behind a casing, and the difference between a proper installation and a cheap one does not show up for three or four years. We try to close that gap by explaining what we are doing and why, in writing, before anyone picks up a tool.

Who We Are

We install, replace, repair and service gas boilers across Doncaster and the surrounding towns and villages. All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers — a legal requirement for gas work in Great Britain, not a badge we chose to display.

We are deliberately local. Doncaster is a borough with an unusually varied housing stock: colliery terraces in Bentley, estate housing around Armthorpe and Intake, Georgian and Victorian brick in Thorne, hillside terraces stepping down the Don valley in Conisbrough, and Dearne Valley terraced streets in Mexborough. Each of those brings its own problems — heat loss through solid walls, undersized gas supplies from earlier conversions, condensate falls on split-level properties, flue routing where boundary distances are tight. A firm covering half of Yorkshire learns none of that. We work here, so we do.

How We Work

Four things we do on every job, without exception.

We survey before we quote

Nobody gets a price over the phone. Gas supply size, flue routing options, incoming mains flow rate, system condition and actual hot water demand cannot be assessed without seeing the property. A firm price given blind is either padded to cover the unknown or destined to be revised on the day, and neither is fair on you.

We itemise

Every quote breaks out the boiler, the labour, the gas supply work if any, the flue work, the system flush and the filter. A single number tells you nothing and cannot be compared against anyone else’s single number. Cheap quotes are usually cheap because something has been left out, and itemising is the only way to see what.

We size it properly

Output comes from a room-by-room heat loss calculation and a measured flow rate, not from bedroom count. Oversizing makes a boiler cycle and wear out early. Undersizing means the house never warms through in February. Guessing high is the commercially safer guess, which is precisely why it happens so often.

We tell you when not to buy

If your boiler has years left in it, we will say so and quote you for a repair instead. If a combi is wrong for your property because the mains supply cannot feed it, we will say that too rather than fit one and leave you disappointed. Turning down work we could have taken is the least expensive form of advertising there is.

What You Get in Writing

Every installation is handed over with the full paperwork, because it is yours and you will need it.

  • Benchmark commissioning checklist with actual combustion figures recorded
  • Building Regulations compliance certificate, notified by us — a conveyancing solicitor will ask for this when you sell
  • Manufacturer warranty registered in your name at commissioning
  • Gas Safe record for the work carried out
  • An itemised invoice matching the quote you accepted

A service report with no combustion numbers on it means the analyser was never used. That applies to whoever carries out your work, us included — it is worth checking.

Our Standards

  • Magnetic system filter fitted as standard on every installation, not offered as an extra
  • System chemically cleansed before any new boiler carries load, because Doncaster’s harder water and older pipework make it necessary rather than optional
  • Gas working pressure tested at the boiler on every survey, which catches botched earlier conversions
  • Flue terminal positions checked against boundary and opening distances rather than eyeballed
  • No premium charged for urgency — a household with no heating in January is not a pricing opportunity

What We Do

Five services, covered in detail on their own pages:

Where We Work

We cover Doncaster and the surrounding towns and villages, including Bentley, Armthorpe, Thorne, Conisbrough and Mexborough, along with Edenthorpe, Hatfield, Stainforth, Swinton, Sprotbrough, Tickhill and Bawtry.

Being outside the town centre should not mean a longer wait or a worse job, and we price accordingly.

Gas Safety and Why Registration Matters

Anyone carrying out work on a gas appliance in Great Britain must be on the Gas Safe Register. It is not optional, and unregistered gas work is a criminal offence as well as a genuine danger. Registration is also checkable in about thirty seconds on the Gas Safe Register, and we would encourage you to check whoever you use — including us.

Landlords have a further legal duty: every gas appliance and flue in a let property must be checked annually by a registered engineer, with a copy of the record given to the tenant within 28 days, or before a new tenancy begins.

Get in Touch

If your boiler is failing, or you are simply weighing up whether to repair or replace, book a survey. It costs nothing, carries no obligation, and you get both figures so you can decide with the full picture rather than under pressure. If you have no heating or no hot water right now, ring us instead — that is faster than any form.
